About the Event
Registration is now open for the Think Thrive Newton Women’s Expo on Thursday, August 16, 2018. Hosted by the Covington/Newton County Chamber of Commerce, the Think Thrive Newton Women’s Expo is designed to bring professional women in Newton County and the surrounding areas together to empower, educate and engage. The event will be an evening of motivational speakers, networking with other professional women, and connecting with local businesses in an exhibitor area.
The Women’s Expo will be held at The Reserve on Hendricks from 5 to 8pm. The Reserve is a charming and rustic venue in downtown Covington. It is a delightful space that offers an intimate setting to mix and mingle with other business professionals as you enjoy dinner, hear motivational messages from community leaders, and network and connect with others in the community.
When you register, you’ll meet our dynamic keynote speaker Gretchen Corbin, President and CEO of the Georgia Lottery. She will be speaking about thriving as a woman in business, as a mother, and as an entrepreneur who has pursued passionate endeavors. Last fall, Gretchen was nominated by Governor Nathan Deal to lead the Georgia Lottery. Today, her vision includes impacting education across the state.
Our second guest speaker is Christian Perez, the Executive Chef at City Pharmacy. Chef Perez is of Guatemalan descent and uses her culinary skills to pair the flavors of her Latin roots with Southern cuisine. As a Latin woman, she has overcome hurdles in the culinary world to work in some of the best Atlanta restaurants. Under her leadership, City Pharmacy has been named one of Atlanta’s Hottest Restaurants by Eater and was called a “dinner experience to rival many in this big city” by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Also speaking is Amber Foster, co-owner of Maddie Mae, Covington’s premier children’s store. Amber Foster is super passionate about families. Through Maddie Mae, Amber Foster focuses on the three values of “love, live, and give”.
Dinner is included with registration and will be catered by Oxford Dining’s Bon Appetit. In addition, attendees will be invited to a wine tasting. Ticket prices for the Women’s Expo are $50 for Chamber members and $65 for non-members.
